Why Fitsom

Health and fitness are all encompassing. The human state of mind is not separate from the state of the physical body. Having a mind-body awareness is an integral part of health. And of course, nutrition is 80% of fitness! Fitsom totally understands this and incorporates these truths into their educational regimen.

Favorite exercise

Burpees! They are a total body exercise that requires no equipment. I remember back when I couldn’t do a single burpee. They’re really challenging! And I love a challenge. I can bust a few out now.

Biggest physical accomplishment

Completing an 80+ mile trek with a 30-pound backpack through the indigenous Ixil Triangle to the majestic Cuchumatanes, with the final destination of Todos Santos, Guatemala.

Favorite food

Avocado toast! It’s delicious, versatile, and healthy! Packed with fiber, protein, and heart-healthy fats. The best way to make it: whole wheat sourdough, homemade pesto, avocado slices, fresh heirloom tomato, a dash of onion powder, turmeric, paprika, and lemon zest!

Do For Fun

Go hiking/backpacking in the bay area, auburn, Tahoe, go camping, check out new farmer’s markets, play in the kitchen (Make a recipe my own) and attend music festivals!

Nutrition Advice

Get back to the basics! Eat whole, real foods at least 80% of the time. I trust nature more than I trust a chemist.
